STRENGTH AND CONDITION PROGRAMMING

Strength and conditioning usually come after the postural correction. As the body is biomechanical, how efficiently you move, meaning how much force you can produce. Is based on how biomechanical efficient you are in your joints.

Strength and conditioning programs after postural corrections are the best way to make sure you achieve your fitness goals and improve your overall health for longevity. Programs as individualized with coaching, ensuring that you are performing each exercise safely and effectively.

IMS / DRY NEEDLING

Intramuscular stimulation (IMS) is a technique used to release or lengthen muscles that may be causing chronic musculoskeletal or neuropathic pain. Very fine needles (the same ones used in acupuncture) are inserted directly into the affected muscle, in order to stimulate healing. This is also often referred to, or known as, “dry needling.”

About Me

James earned his Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Toronto, where he collaborated with various varsity teams, including Women’s Volleyball, Women’s Lacrosse, and Men’s Football.

Following his time at U of T, James pursued a Doctor of Physiotherapy degree at the University of Melbourne, gaining valuable experience in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and long-term care facilities.

James has a passion for movement that extends beyond his professional pursuits. In his free time, you can find him immersed in various disciplines—from golf to boxing to dance—watching and learning. This enthusiasm for diverse forms of movement not only reflects his dedication to the field but also underscores his commitment to understanding the intricacies of human kinetics from a broad perspective.

Employing a holistic approach to therapy, James considers the entire person and their interactions with the environment, encompassing both the body and mind. Recognizing the vital connection between your body, mind, and environment is essential for understanding pain and making enduring changes.

Drawing inspiration from methodologies such as ConnectTherapy (a derivative of the Integrative Systems Model), and the Postural Restoration Institute, James is here to assist you in achieving your goals and living the life you desire.

Appointment Durations

Initial Physiotherapy Assessments are 60 minutes or 45 minutes in duration.

I recommend a 60-minute first appointment to allow time to collect all of your information and complete a detailed whole-body assessment to fully determine all components of your injury and what is required to help you achieve your goals.

However, 30-minute Initial Physiotherapy Assessments can be provided upon request. These shorter initial assessment sessions are reserved generally for simple or more acute injuries. However, if you choose a shorter Initial Physiotherapy Assessment session it may require two shorter sessions to be able to fully complete your assessment and have the time to cover the same information as one longer initial session.

It is also recommended to schedule a follow-up visit after your initial assessment in the event one is needed to continue your assessment and treatment.
